WHAT IS HEMP?

Hemp is a variety of the Cannabis sativa plant species - one of the fastest growing plants on earth. Hemp has significantly lower concentrations of THC and higher concentrations of cannabidiol (CBD), which decreases or eliminates its psychoactive effects.

WHAT IS FULL-SPECTRUM CBD?

Also known as whole-plant cannabidiol (CBD) oil, full-spectrum CBD oil is a cannabis oil with high concentrations of CBD, as well as other cannabinoids, terpenes, and trace amounts of THC found in the cannabis plant. (Hemp-derived CBD products legally cannot contain more than 0.3% THC.)

CBD mimics natural compounds in our bodies which help regulate a broad range of processes. Think of full-spectrum CBD like a multivitamin that provides a sampling of all your daily requirements, rather than taking only Vitamin-C, for example. Full-spectrum CBD is a little bit of everything hemp has to offer. Learn More >>

WHAT IS CBD USED FOR?

CBD has the potential to relieve symptoms of a variety of ailments including chronic pain, anxiety, stress, PTSD/trauma, GI issues and sleep disturbances - all naturally, often eliminating or reducing the need for pharmaceuticals.

Studies have shown CBD to be therapeutic both on its own and in synergy with other cannabis compounds in what’s known as the entourage effect. Learn More >>

HOW SHOULD I TAKE CBD?

In general, it's best to start with small, once-daily doses, such as taking a few drops of CBD oil under the tongue. Swish the oil around your mouth for a few minutes before swallowing to aid absorption. It's also helpful to consume CBD with a meal or high-fat snack, as CBD is fat-soluble, and the fat increases its absorption by four to five times.

As an alternative or for site-specific treatment like menstrual cramps, you can apply the oil directly (or mixed with lotion) & massage into your skin for easy, more direct absorption.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I TAKE?

The FDA has yet to produce an official serving size for CBD so dosing and consumption method is very dependent on both individual need and preference. To help you identify the right dosage for you, we created a comprehensive dosing guide that you can find here.

CBD can interact with some medications, so talk to your doctor about your daily CBD regimen.

WILL I GET HIGH? WHAT EFFECTS CAN I EXPECT?

No, you will not. The hemp plant produces a broad range of cannabinoids, including tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), but not enough to create intoxicating effects when consumed. As a result, hemp-derived CBD is rapidly becoming one of the most popular forms of therapeutic cannabinoid on the market.

When taking CBD, you can expect to feel calmer and more relaxed, both physically and mentally. For a more comprehensive overview of the different benefits you can expect, see our dosing guide here.

DOES CBD SHOW UP ON TESTS?

It's highly unlikely that CBD oil will show up on tests, which screen for THC metabolites. Hemp-derived CBD products contain trace amounts of THC, although they legally cannot contain more than 0.3% THC. If you are concerned about testing, we offer our 1500mg THC-FREE CBD extract.

See our “Certificate of Analysis” for more information about our hemp (also located via QR code on all Kardin products).

WHAT KIND OF EXTRACTION METHOD DO YOU USE?

Research has shown that cannabinoids can have beneficial effects on physical and mental health, and extraction makes it possible to consume more of those cannabinoids with less effort.

Extracting CBD involves isolating the chemical compound from the surrounding plant material and distilling it to make a potent, pure CBD concentrate. Kardin uses CO2 extraction - the industry's cleanest, safest, and most efficient processing method.

Through the use of a pressurized chamber (or a closed-loop extractor), CO2 gas is compressed until it becomes a liquid. The liquid is then forced over the cannabis material where it strips away CBD cannabinoids. When the solution is depressurized, the CO2 reverts to gas and evaporates, leaving behind pure CBD extracted from the plant material.

HOW DO I KNOW WHAT'S IN MY PRODUCT?

Our products are regularly sent for Certificate of Authenticity testing (also known as COA), performed and verified by a third-party, independent testing laboratory.

Our COAs test for test for heavy metals, pesticides and other contaminants, as well as verify the overall total amount (in percentage or milligrams) of CBD and THC. Access Kardin’s COA on the product you have by scanning the QR code on the packaging.

WHAT ARE FUNCTIONAL MUSHROOMS? HOW DO THEY WORK?

Functional mushrooms are fungi that are health-promoting beyond their nutritional profile, boasting a wide array of benefits, from improved cognitive performance to stress reduction and increased energy.

WHY TAKE A MUSHROOM EXTRACT? WHAT KIND OF BENEFITS CAN I EXPECT?

Rather than targeting surface-level symptoms, functional mushrooms are adaptogenic in nature, meaning they boost your body's overall stress management, helping you to better adapt and combat life's daily stressors.

Each mushroom has a unique set of medicinal superpowers, whose benefits range from energizing and uplifting, to immune-boosting, and even memory enhancing.

HOW LONG BEFORE I START SEEING RESULTS?

Although you may notice immediate improvements in your memory, energy levels or attentiveness, for example, the more comprehensive, long-term effects of taking functional mushrooms can be observed after 2-3 weeks of consistent use.

WHAT PART OF THE MUSHROOM IS USED IN YOUR EXTRACTS?

We use 100% fruiting bodies in our extracts as they contain a higher nutritional and medicinal potency than mycelium.

WHERE DO YOU SOURCE YOUR MUSHROOMS?

Our mushrooms are proudly grown on a small, organic wellness farm outside of Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
